SYRACUSE, Indiana — November 21, 2006 — Taylor Smith, daughter of Laurie and Jeremy Smith, a 9 year old 4th grader at Syracuse Elementary received $4.44 for making a basket at the Wawasee/Fairfield Basket Ball game. Smith was one of 4 semi-finalists drawn to shoot for a possible $444.44. “One person gets a chance to shoot 4 shots, 2 tries from the free throw, 1 three pointer and 1 half court. The short could win $4.44, $44.44 or $444.44 for a half court shot,” said Rich Hays Director of Marketing at U4. He continued, “This is really fun and it is absolutely free! You sign up at the U4 table near the concession stand, 10 minutes before both Girls and Boys Varsity games we call 4 names, of those 4, and one will be the finalist and gets 4 shots.” While this is happening, Cheerleaders tossed 25 shirts into the crowd. “Blake Fawley, Wawasee High School Senior, designed the shirts for U4.” said Ben Plikerd, President of U4.
The semi-finalists are Scott Wolf, Oscar Hernandez and Matt Gaylor. The semi-finalist and finalist receive a limited edition long sleeve Wawasee Warrior/U4 Hoop Shoot shirt.
