Scholarship Presented to Jeremiah Bauer
SYRACUSE, Indiana - May 24, 2006 - U4 presented Jeremiah Bauer with the 2006 Scholarship. “Jeremiah exhibits a thirst for knowledge in computers and science,” said Rich Hays Director of Marketing at U4. “U4 enjoys giving back to the community,” Hays continued. “A laptop computer will help a great deal when it comes to my studies at Purdue!” commented Bauer. “U4 had 25 applications this year, up from 2005,” said Hays. Hays continued, “We know that having a laptop will make studies easier.” Jeremiah is the son of Dan and Sarah Bauer and will attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Jeremiah will be studying Computer Engineering. While attending Wawasee High School, Jeremiah participated in Marching Band, Jazz Band, National Honor Society and Church Youth Group at the North Webster Church of God. Jeremiah graduated with a 9.943 GPA.
U4 Calling Cards for Kiwanis Car Show
SYRACUSE, Indiana— May 18, 2006 — U4 provided 30 minute calling cards for 150 goody bags handed out at the Kiwanis Car Show on Friday. “U4 enjoys supporting a community Service Group like Kiwanis,” says Rich Hays, Director of Development. The Car Show is an annual event put on by the Syracuse Kiwanis.
No Third Party Billing
SYRACUSE, Indiana—May 16, 2006— "Have you ever gotten a phone bill and noticed there was a charge from a company other than your phone company? This is third party billing," explained Tina McGuire, Manager of the U4 Store in Syracuse. McGuire further explained, "U4 does not do third party billing. The only items you will see on your U4 bill are U4 services, legitimate service fees and mandatory taxes." Ben Plikerd, CEO of U4, said, "Once third party billing shows up on your phone bill it is very hard to get a refund or get it removed from future bills." Plikerd continued, "U4 is a phone company. U4 is not a billing service. U4 realizes that third party billing is an issue for customers of Sprint and Verizon. U4 is not like the other guys."
U4 Hires Bill Rondeau as Director of Finance
SYRACUSE, Indiana — May 5, 2006 — “Bill Rondeau brings 15 years of public accounting to U4,” says Ben Plikerd, President of U4. He continued, “Bill’s back ground will be a great asset to continue to keep U4 feet on fanatical solid ground.” “I am very happy to be a part of a thriving young company,” said Rondeau. Rondeau graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1989 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration. His first job was with Dana L Krull, Inc. from 1989 - 1995. In 1995 he worked for EyeTel Technologies, Inc as their Controller/Director of Finance. In 1996 he went into public accounting and worked for Walter Corbin Inc. In the Fall of 1999 after get his CPA Certification in 1998, he went into business for himself. “I now find myself at home with U4,” finished Rondeau.
